Meet the Real Trouble

Hi. You've probably met the cartoon Trouble already. He's the ginger-and-white shopkeeper in our videos, the one who causes total chaos before the announcer sighs, "Oh, Trouble..."

Cartoon 3D Trouble, the shopkeeper of Trouble's Cat Shop

Here's the twist: he's real.

Who is Trouble?

Trouble started life as a street cat in Shanghai. Today he's about 16 years old, which makes him a proper senior gentleman, although nobody has told him that. He is super cute, super naughty, and convinced that every hour of the day is mealtime. If there's food anywhere in the house, Trouble already knows about it, and he has opinions.

He's also a bit of a fighter. About three years ago he was diagnosed with acute kidney failure. With stem-cell treatment he made a pretty good recovery, and he's doing okay now. These days he gets a little fluid top-up every day, and he takes it like the good boy he secretly is. We feel very lucky to have him around.

Cartoon Trouble vs. real Trouble

The cartoon version is based on the real Trouble's markings: the ginger patch over his nose, the white stripe down his face, the orange back and back legs, the white paws and those big green eyes. The cartoon smashes coffee tables. The real one mostly smashes his food bowl expectations. Both have exactly the same look on their face when they've done something they shouldn't.

Why is the shop named after him?

Because every cat shop needs a boss, and Trouble was never going to accept any other job title. Everything we sell is something we'd use on him first, and he is a very honest product tester. If he doesn't like it, you'll hear about it.

So welcome to Trouble's Cat Shop: the only good kind of Trouble. Follow along in Trouble's Diary for real photos, real stories and a lot of naps.
